This specialized program provides services to individuals who display disruptive behavior that poses a risk of harm to self, others or the environment, or that impeded an individual’s ability to establish meaningful behaviors. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) use behavior analytic assessment and treatment procedures to produce the best possible outcomes for our clients.
Functional Behavior Assessment is an information gathering process to identify potential maintaining function(s) of behavior. Based upon clinical necessity, HOPE Group clinicians may conduct parent/teacher interviews, behavior rating scales, Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence observations, and/or a Functional Analysis. Based on the information gathered the clinician will then develop a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) which includes specific strategies for the team to implement as well as measurable goals
Parents will receive ongoing formal training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in the areas of prompting, reinforcement, and behavior management. As part of the parent training model, they will learn how to create opportunities and implement strategies specific to their child’s treatment plan. Parent-led goals may include but are not limited to: self-help (feeding, toilet training) communication, safety, and daily living skills.
